Pine Tree Potters' Guild Members' Gallery
Artist: Nina Delisi-Cromwell
Artist Biography
In 1992 Nina discovered her passion for pottery at a beginner class at Pine Tree
Potters. Since then she has been refining her skills with wheel thrown pottery,
hand-built slab work and glazing. After retiring from teaching, Nina began the
process of developing from a hobby potter to a semi-professional.
Nina
has developed her own style through experimentation and play with clay. Attracted
to earthy, textured forms, Nina works mainly in red earthenware clay. Whimsy is
exhibited in fantastic, colourful tropical fish that become platters, bowls,
plates, spoonrests and soap dishes; elegance in the free flowing shapes of bowls,
trays and birdbaths, and practicality in casseroles, mugs, bowls and serving
dishes for the table. Her trademark is a blue flower with curved stem.
Nina has participated in juried sales with Pine Tree Potters since 1992. She also
exhibits her work at Bovaird House in Brampton. In June of 2003, Nina was a
featured artist at the Beaux-Arts Brampton Gallery "Chasing Seagulls in
Pursuit of the Image" show. Nina has a July sale in her garden and occasional
sales at home.
