View From The Pines
Artist: Sharon Mylod
"We had seen a lot of art dedicated to the Catholic Church and religion at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence; many perfect, beatific and expressionless faces.
When I focussed my binoculars on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel at the Vatican in Rome, my eyes filled with tears. I was overcome with how Michelangelo had painted the joys, sorrows, triumphs and pain that life had written on the faces.
I am not a fan of corrective anti-aging enhancements. I have earned every one of my wrinkles and defects. A beautiful face shows the history and soul of the life lived."
