Dave Schembri
Dave Schembri has been making pottery since the mid 1990's, first taking handbuilding and wheel throwing classes with Gay Liddel at Turning Point Studio in Pickering Ontario. At this time, Dave became a member of Durham Potters' Guild. Dave has attended many pottery workshops and classes at Pine Tree Potters Guild, Raku Techniques 1 & 2 workshops with Michael Sheba and Advanced Throwing with the late Les Manning at the Metchosin International Summer School of the Arts in Metchosin, B.C.
Upon moving to Newmarket, ON, Dave joined Pine Tree Potters' Guild in 2011. He is an active member at the Guild, volunteering as a Director and sitting on the Sales, Empty Bowls and Website Development committees. He conducts Raku workshops for galleries and guilds and teaches Adult Beginner Wheel and Adult Beginner Handbuilding classes.
Dave creates functional and one-of-a-kind pottery and sculptural pieces. He participates in the Guild's spring and fall sales and his studio pottery can be found at Meta 4 Contemporary Craft Gallery in Port Perry, ON.
