Introduction to the Potter's Wheel - Wednesday Mornings (8 sessions)
Dates: Wednesday Mornings, May 8 to June 26, 2024. (8 sessions)
Time: 10:00am to 1:00pm
Cost for Guild Members: $320.00 (includes tax) - This does not
include the cost of clay. Members will supply their own clay (purchased through PTP)
Cost for Non-Members: $435.00 (includes tax). This price includes one bag of
clay,
plus glazes and firing for pieces made in class. Additional bags of clay, if needed, can be purchased
from
the guild for $40.

Class Size: Maximum 8 participants
In this 8-week course you will develop confidence while learning the fundamentals of wheel work.
Throughout the course the focus will be on centering, opening, raising walls, and throwing cylinders and
bowls. Participants will also learn to trim and glaze the pieces they make and fine tune their skills.
It is recommended that participants have some minor hand building experience before taking this course.
Beginner Hand Building - Saturday Afternoons (7 sessions)
Dates: Saturdays May 11 to June 29, 2024 (7 sessions)
Time: 1:00pm to 4:00pm
Cost for Guild Members: $280.00 (includes tax) - This does not
include the cost of clay. Members will supply their own clay (purchased through PTP)
Cost for Non-Members: $380.00 (includes tax). This price includes one bag of

Class Size: Maximum 10 Students
Throughout this introductory course participants will learn the fundamentals of hand building including:
pinch pots, coils, slab work, sculpture, and glazing. A wide range of techniques and methods will be
demonstrated and both functional and sculptural work will be encouraged. This course will prepare students to be
confident in their creative choices, techniques and handling of clay. Students will get a taste of why so many
potters fall in love with this medium!
